FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION EAST GOLF LINKS ROAD AND SOUTH SADDLEBACK AVENUE |
|
|
On September 19, 2025, at 4:01p.m., Officers from Operations Division East responded to East Golf Links Road and South Saddleback Avenue regarding a report of a vehicular collision involving a moving truck and a motorcycle. Tucson Fire Department personnel responded to the collision scene and evaluated the parties involved. The rider of the motorcycle, 59-year-old Shannon Eskridge, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, a 41-year-old male, and his passenger were not injured. Traffic detectives responded for further investigation.
Interviews conducted by officers and detectives in conjunction with roadway evidence determined that Ms. Eskridge was traveling eastbound on Golf Links Road when the driver exited from a private drive. The driver attempted turn left across three lanes of eastbound Golf Links Road so he could travel westbound. Ms. Eskridge struck the side of the moving truck. Ms. Eskridge was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and had a valid motorcycle endorsement associated with her driver’s license.
An officer from the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit responded to the collision scene and evaluated the driver for impairment. The driver was not impaired. Any alcohol and/or drugs within Ms. Eskridge at the time of the collision may be determined through medical records.
The driver was cited for failure to yield exiting a private drive, which is all that Arizona State Law allows for a collision of these circumstances.
