ODW Zebra Unit Captures Bank Robbery Suspect
On July 9, 2025, a suspect went into a bank in the 900 block of East Grant and passed a note to the teller demanding cash and not to use any counter measures. The suspect took cash and fled the area, changing clothing at a nearby bus stop.
The suspect's clothing was collected and processed for DNA and fingerprints. The evidence was analyzed, and suspect information was developed. TPD Robbery Detectives provided photographs of the suspect to the ODW Zebra Unit. While conducting proactive patrol in the VIVA area (Violence Interruption and Vitalization Action), ODW Zebra located a matching subject near the 0 block of West Ft. Lowell. He was arrested and transported to Pima County Jail on robbery charges. Excellent work!
VIVA Update
In an ongoing effort to reduce crime in ODW’s VIVA area, TPD partnered with the City Manager’s Office and Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility to install a wrought-iron fence on the west side of Stone near Delano.
This fence will make it more difficult for people to hide in the Cemetery Wash and conduct nefarious activity in the area – an excellent example of ongoing collaboration to improve the quality of life in our VIVA location.

Operations Division West has partnered with Flowing Wells High School to create the “Adopt-a-Cab” program. Officers from Operations Division West have volunteered to “adopt” a Flowing Wells High School varsity football player for the upcoming season.
This is a great opportunity to build positive relationships with local youth and show our continued support for the community. Flowing Wells has started their football season with 2 wins and 0 losses, including a recent victory over their rival, Amphi! Go Caballeros!
Sugar Hill’s Battle of the Badges Basketball Tournament
On August 23, 2025, Tucson Police participated in the Sugar Hill Neighborhood Association's 5-on-5 basketball tournament at the Donna Liggins Recreation Center. Community members and different agencies participated in the tournament. After a few hard-fought games, team Border Patrol ended up taking 1st place – congratulations!
ODW Officer of the Quarter
With over 30 years of dedicated service to the Tucson Police Department, ODW Officer Bradway exemplifies professionalism, integrity, and commitment, both to the department and the community.
As the longtime leader of the Field Training Officer program in Operations Division West, and as an FTO himself, he has shaped countless new officers, passing on invaluable knowledge and experience.
Even as he approaches retirement, Officer Bradway continues to demonstrate an unwavering work ethic – responding to requests from command staff, ward offices, neighborhood associations, and businesses with consistency and care. His deep familiarity with the community, from residents and business owners to chronic offenders and absentee landlords, makes him an indispensable resource. With strong connections across City departments and agencies, he has been able to address complex issues swiftly and effectively, ensuring that the Zebra Unit remains highly responsive to community needs.
As he prepares to retire, the department will lose not only a wealth of institutional knowledge, but also a true model of dedication and service. Recognizing Officer Bradway as Officer of the Quarter is a fitting tribute to his remarkable career and lasting impact. Congratulations!
