Since the fatal shooting of Aris Raynee Brito Junior, investigators and professional staff from the TPD Homicide Unit conducted follow-up investigation which included interviews, processing of additional evidence, and other relevant investigative activities. These efforts led to the identity and arrest warrants for two juvenile suspects identified as 17-year-old Marquis Wain Reddick, and 17-year-old Tayson Lynn Kent Spangle. Coordinated efforts to locate Reddick began. Just after midnight on September 7, 2025, members from the Operations Division West, Midtown, and East Community Response Teams, TPD SWAT, and TPD K9 located Reddick and safely took him into custody.
Marquis Reddick and Tayson Spangle have both been charged with 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, and Aggravated Robbery. Marquis Reddick was booked into the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center. Tayson Spangle’s charges have been added as he was already in custody at the Pima County Jail for an unrelated incident.

On August 8, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to an apartment complex at 2000 East Roger Road regarding multiple reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male with gunshot trauma. Officers rendered trauma first aid until Tucson Fire medics arrived. The male did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as 18-year-old Aris Raynee Brito Junior. His family has been notified of his passing. Homicide investigators and Crime Scene Unit responded to continue the investigation.
This investigation is ongoing and in its early stages. Investigators are working to identify two suspects involved. Additional information may be released at a later date as it becomes available. Anyone with information is urged to contact Tucson Police, or 88-CRIME if you wish to remain anonymous.
