FATAL VEHICLE COLLISION (DELAYED)
EAST TANQUE VERDE ROAD & EAST WOODLAND ROAD |

On July 23, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision at East Tanque Verde Road and East Woodland Road. Upon arrival, they spoke with the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, a blue Toyota Corolla. Officers learned that the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Tanque Verde in the curb lane when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree. The driver, 68-year-old David Donald Allan, was wearing his seatbelt and impairment was not suspected at the time of the collision. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.
The next week, on July 31, the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner notified the Tucson Police Department that Mr. Allan had passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained during the collision. His family was aware of the crash and his passing. Traffic Unit Detectives are now reviewing the case and continuing the investigation.
