 KIDCO AFTER SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration is open for KIDCO After School for the 2025-2026 school year. This program offers safe and structured activities for those 5-11 years old and currently enrolled in kindergarten-5th, grade from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Planned activities may include sports, games, nutrition, fitness, arts and crafts, performing arts, and special events. The cost is $500/school year for city residents or $625/school year for non-city residents. View locations and register online by following the link below. A payment plan is available. The Discount program is available for City of Tucson residents only and must be applied before registration.

 HOLIDAY ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR CALL FOR VENDORS
Tucson Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for the 2025 Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair, a long-standing event at Gene C. Reid Park, that features over 150 handmade-only vendors from across the Southwest. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Vendor spaces are limited and highly competitive; all items must be handmade, and applications submitted by Friday, Aug. 8, will be juried for acceptance. Applications must be submitted via Google Forms, and a Google account is required.
Accepted vendors will be notified by Friday, Sept. 12, and pay $90 for a 10' x 10' booth. Those not accepted or applying late will be placed on a waitlist. For details or to apply, visit the Parks and Recreation website or call 520-837-8062 or 520-837-8043 for help creating a Google account.
 REGISTER FOR TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION CLASSES
Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting an array of leisure classes viewable online at the link below. Leisure classes range from beginning ballet, pottery, jewelry making, photography, and more. There are various options for both youth and adult participants. The deadline to register for session one classes is Tuesday, Aug. 26.  In November 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety).  BARRIO NOPAL PARK GRAND OPENING
Barrio Nopal Park Grand Opening Set for Aug. 16: Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz, and Tucson Parks and Recreation will host a community celebration for the grand opening of Barrio Nopal Park, 311 E. Elvira ROAd., on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 9-11 a.m. The new westside park features a splash pad, playground, restrooms, walking path, ramadas, benches, lighting, a parking lot, and an accessible entrance. Guided by community input, the park’s master plan was approved in 2022, and the City acquired the land from Sunnyside Unified School District in 2023. The $4.6 million project was designed by Kimley-Horn, built by Durazo Construction, and funded by Proposition 407 bond funds, City Framework dollars, and impact fees.
