Tucson Police Homicide Detectives have arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of Joshua Francisco on July 2, 2025, in Midtown Tucson.
Through further examination of forensic evidence, detectives identified a possible suspect and released a description to patrol officers. On July 10th, the possible suspect, identified as 33-year-old Ramsey Waylon King, was located by officers and interviewed by homicide detectives. After follow-up interviews and speaking with Ramsey King, detectives charged him with 1st Degree Murder. Officers transported him to the Pima County Jail, where he was booked and is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond. The original media release from July 3, is listed below.

On July 2, 2025, Officers from Operations Division Midtown and Tucson Fire Department personnel responded to the area of 22nd Street and Country Club Road regarding a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived in the area, they located an adult male victim with stab wound trauma in the southwest portion of Reid Park. Officers immediately rendered emergency first aid using their Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK) until Tucson Fire medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital. The victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Joshua Julian Francisco. His family was notified of his passing. Officers conducted a thorough area search, but the suspect was not located. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
This investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing. Further information may be released at a later date as it becomes available. Anyone with information can call 911 or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
