MIDDLE HOUSING SURVEY CLOSES TODAY - The City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) recently wrapped up its first round of public meetings on proposed updates to the Unified Development Code to allow middle housing in Tucson. Middle housing refers to residential buildings with two to four units, including duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and townhomes. Cities are required to adopt these changes by Jan. 1, 2026. If they do not, middle housing would be allowed citywide by default. If you missed the public meetings, the community is still welcome to participate by completing the online comment form, which closes today, June 30. Your input will help shape the next draft of the middle housing code change. PDSD will review all input over the summer and plans to release a revised draft in early fall, followed by additional public meetings and formal review by Tucson's Planning Commission and Mayor and Council.
