Over the past several weeks since the fatal shooting of Antonio I. Rivera, investigators and professional staff from the TPD Homicide Unit conducted follow-up investigation which included interviews, processing of additional evidence, and other relevant investigative activities. These efforts led to the identity of the second juvenile suspect, identified as 15-year-old Adrian M. Medina. Detectives obtained and arrest warrant for Adrian Medina for 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Attempted Aggravated Robbery. Coordinated efforts to locate him began. On May 15, 2025, a tactical plan was made using members from the Operations Division South/Community Response Team, TPD SWAT, TPD K9, TPD Air Support Unit, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Air Support Unit. Air Support resources were able to safely direct the tactical teams to Adrian Medina’s location where a search warrant was served by TPD SWAT, resulting in his safe apprehension.
Adrian Medina was booked into the Pima County Jail where he is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
The first arrestee in this investigation has been identified as 14-year-old Scott Felix Jr.

On Thursday, April 17th, patrol officers from the South Side Division were dispatched to the report of a shooting victim in a parking lot near South 12th Avenue and East Drexel Road. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male with gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid until Tucson Fire personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital. Detectives from TPD Homicide and the Shooting Investigations Unit were notified and responded.
Officers were able to locate the shooting scene in the 300 block of W. Holladay Drive. While processing the scene, detectives conducted multiple interviews and determined that the shooting occurred following a meeting between two groups. A suspect from one of the groups was identified as a 14-year-old male.
On April 18th, officers from Operations Division South/Community Response Team located the juvenile suspect and brought him to TPD Headquarters. He was ultimately charged with Aggravated Assault and Attempted Armed Robbery. The following day, April 19th, the victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Antonio I. Rivera. His family was aware of his condition and subsequent passing. Following the victim’s death, detectives amended the charges against the 14-year-old to First Degree Murder (Felony Murder). He is currently being held in the Pima County Juvenile Court Detention Center.
