SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION 7300 BLOCK OF EAST SPEEDWAY BOULEVARD |
Detectives with the Tucson Police Department/Adult Sexual Assault Unit are currently investigating reports of sexual abuse and sexual assault regarding a physician who was operating on Tucson’s east side. Numerous female victims have come forward and reported to TPD several incidents that occurred during physical examinations by a particular doctor. The reports describe that the doctor engaged in inappropriate touching and fondling of the breasts, and or digital penetration of their genitalia. These incidents were reported to have occurred during medical exams for complaints not related to those areas of the body. Each of these reports were thoroughly investigated by Tucson Police, to include service of search warrants, evidence collection, detective interviews, and other relevant investigative activities. Detectives presented their findings to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review. The physician in question, identified as 65-year- old Dr. Dung T. Nguyen, was ultimately indicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
As the investigation progresses, detectives are actively seeking additional witnesses and potential victims who may have been patients of the physician. Anyone with information is asked to contact TPD detectives at 520-589-8971, or 88-CRIME if you wish to remain anonymous.
