FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION 7600 BLOCK OF EAST BROADWAY BOULEVARD |
On May 3, 2025, just after 11: a.m., officers from Operations Division East responded to the 7600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a collision involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a silver GMC Terrain. Personnel from the Tucson Fire Department also responded to the crash scene and evaluated the parties involved. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. TFD transported the passenger of the GMC to an area hospital as a precaution, the driver, identified as a 42-year-old female, was not injured. Traffic detectives were briefed and took over the investigation.
Interviews conducted by officers and detectives, in conjunction with roadway evidence, determined that the GMC Terrain was traveling eastbound on Broadway Blvd. attempting to turn left into a business complex when the westbound motorcyclist collided with it. The motorcyclist was traveling at high speeds, well above the posted 40 mph speed limit. Investigators found that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and had the proper motorcycle endorsement associated with his driver’s license. An officer from the DUI Unit responded to the scene and determined that the driver of the GMC was not impaired at the time of the collision. Failure to yield while making a left turn by the GMC and speeding by the motorcyclist are believed to be the major contributing factors of the collision. Police identified the motorcyclist as 22-year-old Brock Christopher Jackson and notified his next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges or citations have been issued.
