On April 20, 2025, at approximately 11:00am, patrol officers responded to an apartment complex located at 1050 East Milton Road regarding a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside an apartment with gunshot trauma and immediately began rendering aid. Tucson Fire Department personnel arrived and continued life-saving efforts. The victim did not survive his injuries and died at the scene. The victim was identified as 33-year-old Fernando Issac Pablos. His family arrived and was notified of his passing. Detectives from the TPD Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to continue the investigation and to process the scene.
Officers and detectives learned that a confrontation occurred inside an apartment which led to gunfire, and Mr. Pablos being struck. No suspects were on scene when officers arrived. Through interviews and evidence, a female suspect was identified as 33-year-old Ambar Esthela Morales.
On April 21, 2025, officers from Operations Division South/Community Response Team located and apprehended Ambar Morales. Morales was charged with felony murder and first-degree burglary and booked into the Pima County Jail and is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
