TAKE A SURVEY ABOUT THE CITY'S FISCAL YEAR 2026 BUDGET - The City of Tucson is in the process of developing its Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which will take effect July 1, 2025. Residents are encouraged to participate in shaping the budget by completing the budget engagement survey linked below, before Friday, April 11, at 11:59 p.m. In addition, recent town hall meetings featured presentations by City staff, followed by live question-and-answer sessions. SECOND PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING THIS WEEK FOR PLAN TUCSON 2025 REVISED DRAFT - The Planning Commission rescheduled its second Plan Tucson 2025 Revised Draft public hearing to Wednesday, April 9, at 6 p.m., due to a lack of quorum at the Wednesday, March 19 meeting. Plan Tucson 2025 is the City of Tucson’s general plan and outlines the City’s strategic vision for growth, sustainability, and community development over the next decade. Public input is a crucial part of the process as the revised draft plan moves through review and adoption. Following the Planning Commission’s review, Mayor and Council will hold a study session later this month, followed by a public hearing in May. If approved, Tucson residents will have the opportunity to vote on Plan Tucson in the November election. ANNUAL STEM EVENT FOR GIRLS WAS A BIG SUCCESS THIS YEAR (VIDEO) - SheTech is a day‐long, industry‐led STEM exploration event that provides hands‐on, interactive activities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for 9th through 12th grade girls. Last month, more than 330 students from 20 different high schools attended, and more than 30 industry and education partners provided exhibits and workshops. SheTech is organized by the City of Tucson Office of Economic Initiatives, in partnership with the Pima County School Superintendent’s Office, Pima County Economic Development, the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and private-sector sponsors.
