HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
7000 BLOCK OF EAST GOLF LINKS ROAD |

Last night, just after 11:45 p.m., the Tucson Police Department responded to the report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 7000 block of East Golf Links Road. Once on scene, patrol officers located an unresponsive male with gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid, performing CPR on the victim. Members from the Tucson Fire Department arrived to assist, but the victim ultimately died at the scene. Police identified the victim as 24-year-old Trevyiente Anthony Smith-Henry. Next of kin was notified. Additional patrol officers canvassed the area, and no other injuries were reported. TPD Homicide Detectives were briefed on the incident and continued the investigation.
Detectives and TPD Crime Scene technicians processed the parking lot for evidence. After their initial response, detectives have not yet identified a motive or suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME. Information can be shared with 88-CRIME anonymously. Updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
