CITY OF TUCSON ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES HOST STATEWIDE ROAD-E-O
City of Tucson Environmental Services Equipment Operators and other Arizona municipalities will compete in the truck and landfill competition at the annual Arizona Chapter of Solid Waste Association of North America's Road-E-O. SWANA's statewide Road-E-O is on Saturday, March 29 in Tucson, Arizona.
Competing operators are required to take a written drivers’ safety exam and navigate their vehicles and equipment through a series of obstacles to perform exercises simulating everyday encounters. The safe operation of heavy equipment is a major focus of the event. In order to compete, operators must be injury and accident free with a clean driving record. Operators from Arizona municipalities and private companies from across the state participate in the event.
Operators compete against operators from across the state in events with the articulated loader, compactor, dozer, side loader, rear loader, roll off and for truck mechanics. First and second place winners move on to compete against operators from the United States and North America in the SWANA International Road-E-O.
