9th Street & Euclid Avenue Bicyclists and Pedestrian Crossing Improvement Project
We are notifying you of the upcoming pedestrian and bicyclists crossing improvements at the 9th Street and Euclid Avenue intersection that are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 25, 2025. This project is part of the 9th St-7th St Bicycle Boulevard project. This project includes removing the existing HAWK crossing that is currently at this location and replacing it with a TOUCAN crossing, which allows for pedestrians and cyclists to cross simultaneously using dedicated signals. The updates to the crossing will include a wider crossing area, combined signals, and cyclist accessibility. Work is scheduled to begin with removal of curb and underground utility investigations. During this work, lane restrictions on Euclid Avenue will be in place between 10th Street and 8th Street and left turns will be prohibited the week of March 25. Two lanes in each direction on Euclid Avenue will be maintained during the duration of the project. Crews are scheduled to work from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025.
If you have any questions on the project, please call Project Manager Rob Lane at 520-400-3496 or Public Information Officer Erica Frazelle at 520-429-9646.

Tucson Water Survey
Tucson Water has a survey out this month. We invite you to take part in a nationwide survey aimed at understanding household water usage.
Tucson Water is one of 45 utilities across North America participating in the Residential End Uses of Water Study, a project led by Flume and sponsored by the Water Research Foundation.
The data gathered from this study provides valuable insights into how water is used in homes, known as "end uses." These insights help utilities and communities plan for the future, develop effective water efficiency policies, and create rebate and incentive programs for customers.
This survey is completely voluntary, anonymous, and takes just 5–10 minutes to complete. By participating, you’ll also have the chance to enter a raffle to win an iPad.
On behalf of Tucson Water and the research team, we appreciate your time and participation.
Grant-Alvernon Area Plan (GAAP) is Ready for Viewing By the Public
Information from Garden District's neighborhood newsletter.
There are 51 adopted Area Plans across the City. The neighborhood Area Plans feed into “Plan Tucson” which presents the city-wide goals and objectives. An Area Plan is neighborhood specific and addresses neighborhood needs and concerns.
The City uses Area Plans when land use change is proposed, such as rezoning, special exception, etc. The information in an Area Plan informs how the City will move forward with change and increases the neighborhoods’ abilities to influence the development of future land use. The original Grant-Alvernon Area Plan (GAAP) was adopted in 1999. In response to the Grant Rd widening and the development changes that would eventually result from the widening, in 2019, the seven neighborhoods comprising the Grant-Alvernon area requested to revise and update the GAAP. Mayor and council approved moving forward on the revision so, six and a half years ago a call went out for volunteers from Cabrini, Dodge-Flower, Palo Verde, Oak Flower, North Dodge, Doolen-Fruitvale neighborhoods to begin the lengthy process of revising the GAAP.
It's been a long time coming, but the document is finally ready for public viewing and comments. Please join us at one of the upcoming meetings.
Residents of the Grant-Alvernon neighborhoods should be receiving a notification in the mail from the City:
