TRAFFIC ALERT
5-YEAR COLLECTOR STREET PROGRAM ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
PARK AVENUE – FORT LOWELL ROAD TO ADAMS STREET
On Monday, March 17, 2025, KE&G Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), is scheduled to begin the roadway improvements on Park Avenue from Fort Lowell Road to Adams Street, just north of Speedway Boulevard, as part of the Tucson Mayor and Council approved 5-Year Collector Street Program.
Crews are scheduled to mill (remove) the top layer of asphalt and repave with new asphalt.
During the milling and paving, traffic will be restricted to one travel lane and a pilot car will direct traffic through the work zone. Residential and business access will be maintained throughout the project.
Crews will work Monday through Friday from about 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This work is scheduled to take approximately one week to complete.
Electronic message boards will be in place ahead of the project to alert motorists of this upcoming work. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
This project will not include improvements to the Grant Road and Park Avenue intersection.
Following paving operations, crews will return to raise manhole covers and water valve covers level with the new asphalt, and paint pavement markings. The project is scheduled to be complete by mid-April 2025.
In June 2022, the Tucson Mayor and Council voted and approved $15 million per year for 5 years to preserve and improve selected collector streets in the City of Tucson. This collector street improvement project was selected by the Independent Oversight and Accountability Commission (IOAC) as part of the 5-Year Collector Street Program, which is funded annually with $11 million from the Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) and $4 million from the City of Tucson General Fund. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work to improve the quality and safety of your city streets.
