HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION WEST 44TH STREET AND SOUTH 10TH AVENUE |
On February 15, 2025, just after 1:00 a.m., patrol officers from Tucson’s south side responded to reports of a shooting in the area of W. 44th St. and S. 10th Ave. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and an adult female in the roadway with gunshot trauma. Officers immediately provided aid until Tucson Fire Department personnel arrived. Despite their efforts, the male, identified as 32-year-old Eduardo Reyes, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin was notified of his passing. The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
As additional officers arrived, they observed a 23-year-old male leaving the scene and identified him as being involved in the incident.
TPD Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to continue the investigation. Detectives learned Mr. Reyes and another male were involved in an altercation with the 23-year-old male. During the confrontation, shots were fired, fatally striking Mr. Reyes and injuring the female. Detectives are still in the investigation's early stages, and anyone with information is asked to contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous. Once detectives have completed the case, they will present their findings to the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
