CITY HOLIDAY CLOSURES MONDAY: NO CHANGES TO TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS - All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of Presidents Day. All trash and recycling collections will remain on schedule, so make sure to roll out your bins as normal. The Los Reales Sustainability Campus (LRSC) and landfill services will be open on Monday, and all public transportation will be on a regular schedule. TUCSON GEM AND MINERAL SHOW® UNDERWAY - The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society is hosting the "70th Anniversary Tucson Gem and Mineral Show® Shades of Green - Experience the Magic!," today, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 16, at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave. Exhibits at the show provide a rare window into private and museum collections of the mineral world's stars. You can buy tickets at the door or at the TCC Ticket Office. 100th TUCSON RODEO PARADE HAPPENS NEXT WEEK - The 100th annual Tucson Rodeo Parade will take place next Thursday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m., for the second time on its new route. The route will begin at South 12th Avenue and Drexel Road, proceed east on Drexel to South Nogales Highway, then turn north, ending at Irvington Road. Continuing the tradition of no motorized entries, the entire parade is propelled by real horsepower. TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION CONTINUES TO SEEK INPUT ON TWO MAJOR PROJECTS - The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department invites the community to provide feedback on two improvement projects: the Gene C. Reid Park Outdoor Performance Center and the Randolph Park 22nd Street Path and Dell Urich Golf Course. Plans include enhanced ADA access for the Performance Center and proposed updates to the walking path and golf course. An online survey (link below) is available through Monday, Feb. 17.
