MURDER SUICIDE INVESTIGATION 3838 EAST PRESIDIO ROAD |
|
|
The Tucson Police Department is investigating an apparent murder suicide that took place yesterday afternoon in Midtown Tucson.
On February 5, 2025, just after 12:20 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was made reporting a disturbance at an apartment complex located at 3838 E. Presidio Road. Gunshots were reportedly heard coming from inside an apartment. Upon arrival, officers from Operations Division Midtown entered the unit and discovered two individuals with gunshot trauma. One of the individuals, an adult male was pronounced deceased. Officers rendered aid to the other individual, an adult female, until Tucson Fire Department members arrived. She was transported to an area hospital by TFD and ultimately succumbed to her injuries hours later. Police identified the female victim as 24-year-old Delysia Yasmine Urbina and the male as 21-year-old Omari Dequan Cannon.
Detectives from the Tucson Police Homicide Unit responded to continue the investigation. Detectives conducted several interviews and collected evidence at the scene. After investigating the incident, detectives concluded that Omari Cannon had shot Delysia Urbina before turning the gun on himself and taking his life. Detectives learned that they had been in a domestic relationship. Next of kin were notified.
The investigation is ongoing, and there are no outstanding suspects.
