SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR |
In October of 2024, detectives from TPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (TPD/ICAC) began an investigation involving an individual that was believed to be downloading child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Through the course of the investigation, detectives obtained and served numerous search warrants, ultimately identifying the suspect as 45-year-old James Hyrum Badger.
On January 7, 2025, with assistance from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and TPD’s Forensic Electronic Media Unit, TPD/ICAC investigators served a search warrant at the residence of Mr. Badger on Tucson’s eastside. Investigators examined evidence from the home and found probable cause to charge James Badger with ten counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The suspect was transported and booked into the Pima County Jail where he is currently being held on a $150,000 bond. The case will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review.
