 TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION HOSTS OPEN HOUSES AT ALL RECREATION CENTERS
Find a place for community connection, fitness, and fun. Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting open houses at all centers throughout the year, giving you a chance to take tours, learn about programs and events, and even score some free schwag. Guests will receive a limited-edition water bottle and stickers (visit multiple open houses to collect all of them), and offering 50% off of universal memberships (must be purchased at an open house event to get the deal).
The next open house is Thursday, Feb. 20, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., at Randolph Center, 200 S. Alvernon Way.
 SIGN UP FOR SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
Register for Tucson Parks and Recreation's spring men’s, women's, and coed adult Slowpitch Softball Leagues. You can register online at the website linked below or in person at the Sports Unit, 1710 E. Silverlake Road, or Registration Services, 920 S. Randolph Way. Call the Sports Unit at (520) 791-4870 for more information and other registration options. Register online at the link below through Friday, Feb. 14. The season will run March 4-May 29, 2025. If you do not have a team, you can register for the free agent list at the link below.
 TUCSON’S MANSFIELD PARK OFFICIALLY RENAMED TO DORIS J. THOMPSON PARK
The Tucson Mayor and City Council approved renaming Mansfield Park to Doris J. Thompson Park, honoring her impactful contributions to Tucson's Sugar Hill Neighborhood. A dedicated advocate, Thompson championed neighborhood revitalization, community engagement, and inclusivity, leaving a lasting legacy. The renaming process, initiated by Tucson Parks and Recreation in August 2024, included a 45-day public comment period. Furthermore, Mansfield Pool is now Thompson Pool. Park signage and online references will be updated, with details about a formal dedication ceremony to follow.

 TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION SEEKS INPUT ON NEW BIKE PARK
Thanks to generous support from the Trek Foundation, Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists and Arizona State Parks Heritage Fund, the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department is advancing community engagement and designs to develop new trails and features for the 100-Acre Wood Bike Park, 2801 S.
