Council Member Fimbres’ December Letter
Dear Friends,
As the final month of the year graces us with its presence, it’s impossible not to feel the holiday spirit in every corner of Tucson. The crisp desert mornings, the vibrant sunsets painting the sky in festive hues, and the glow of twinkling lights strung along our streets remind us that this is a season of joy, togetherness, and reflection.

Christmas in Tucson is unlike anywhere else. While snow may not blanket our city, the warmth of our community more than makes up for it. From the many events that bring our community together, to the luminarias that light up our neighborhood, the spirit of the season is alive and well in our desert oasis. This time of year, also serves as a reminder of what makes Tucson special – the generosity of its people. Whether it’s donating to local food banks, supporting small businesses at holiday events, or simply extending kindness to a neighbor, our city thrives when we come together. |
As we celebrate, let’s remember the importance of supporting one another and lending a helping hand to those who may be struggling. Together, we can continue building a community grounded in compassion, respect, and gratitude.
On behalf of the Ward 5 Council Office staff: Lupita Robles, Mary Kuchar, Gabriel Holguin, Cindy Gonzales, and Lita Reyes, I want to wish you a warm and joyful Thanksgiving. May your homes be filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Be safe and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
 Your Ward 5 Council Member
Annual Thanksgiving Food Box Distribution
On Saturday, November 23, the Ward 5 Council Office, along with the Firefighters Association, had the opportunity to give back to our community with the Annual Food Boxes. A huge thank you to the FFA for their help, and to the volunteers who helped assemble the food boxes and distribute them.
The Rollin Thru Time Museum invites visitors into a world of nostalgia and innovation. This unique museum celebrates the evolution of transportation and technology, weaving together stories of vintage vehicles, classic designs, and the people who shaped their era. From gleaming automobiles that redefined mobility to rare artifacts showcasing the ingenuity of the past, Rollin Thru Time offers a journey through the decades. We had the opportunity to meet with Joe Findysz, owner of Rollin Thru Time, to talk about the story of the museum and the inspiration behind it. |

Joe’s love of cars started at the age of 14. He had a friend named Ken who at the time “had a barn full of Model T cars.” This led Joe to want his own collection of Model T cars. Fast forward to 2021, he was able to find a building that suited his criteria. However, it was a long 10 years before he was able to find it. It was extremely important to him to find a building that had multiple rooms and had access to the I-10. |
Joe gave us a tour of his museum, and it is safe to say that the 10-year wait was worth it. It is a spacious building with six rooms including a gift shop full of neat items. The museum itself hosts a collection of about 225 cars including a bulldozer, firetrucks and police cars, all of these being donations from previous owners. The oldest car in his collection is a 1906 Ford Model M, which came out before the Model T. There are 24 volunteers who help Joe make sure everything runs smoothly. |

With Rollin Thru Time, Joe has an opportunity to not only share his love of vintage cars with the community, but to also give back to the community as well. He has worked with Ronald McDonald House Charities in the past, and he has brought gifts not only for young patients, but for their siblings as well. It is always incredibly heartwarming to see our local business give back to our community.
Rollin Thru Time is located at 4750 South Park Avenue and can be reached at (520) 372-2160. We want to thank Joe for his time, and we wish him the best of luck.

On Saturday, December 14, United Hearts of Arizona held their annual Shoe and Jacket Drive at the El Pueblo Center. 200 children from the southside received a jacket and a pair of shoes. I want to congratulate Maria Cardenas, the Board of Directors of United Hearts, and Lupita Robles, my Chief of Staff, on putting on another successful event, and I want to thank them for their unwavering support of our community.
Winter Wonderland at Quincie Douglas Center
Many children and their families attended the annual Winter Wonderland at the Quincie Douglas Center, held on Saturday, December 14. With Santa Claus in attendance, lots of cool toys, and delicious cookies and beverages, it was impossible not to have such a magical and wonderful experience. I want to thank Jerry Neely, and the Quincie Douglas Center staff for their hard work and dedication in putting on this great event. I also want to thank Mary Kuchar from my office for her contribution to this festive event.
