CITY HOLIDAY CLOSURES FOR CHRISTMAS DAY NEXT WEEK - All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Day. All trash and recycling customers with collections Wednesday-Friday will have their services delayed by one day. The Los Reales Sustainability Campus and its landfill will be closed on Wednesday. Public transportation will be on a Sunday schedule, although Sun Express and Sun Shuttle will not be in service (except ADA Dial-a-Ride, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.). CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS NEXT WEEK AND THEN 'TREECYCLE' (VIDEO) - While there's less than a week until Christmas, it's never too early to think about what to do with your fresh-cut Christmas tree after the holiday ends and the gifts are put away. Tucson's "TreeCycle" program will open again this year to help you turn your tree into something greener when you're done with it. You can take it off its stand and strip off all the lights, tinsel, and other decorations and drop off your bare tree at one of the many TreeCycle locations to help create compost to nourish our community's vegetation. The program begins Thursday, Dec. 26, and continues through Monday, Jan. 20. You can find a list of drop-off sites by following the link below. TUCSON CELEBRATED DISABILITY PRIDE DAY EARLIER THIS MONTH (VIDEO) - Disability Pride Day coincides with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This United Nations initiative was created to promote the rights and well-being of those with disabilities in all segments of society. To increase awareness of the circumstances of individuals with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic, cultural life, The Ward 2 Office of Council Member Paul Cunningham held Disability Pride Day on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Morris K.
