HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION 4300 BLOCK OF SOUTH PANTANO ROAD |

On December 14, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., patrol officers from Operations Division East were informed of a possible body in a desert area near the 4300 block of S. Pantano Rd. Upon searching the area, officers located an adult male with obvious signs of trauma. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time, pending next of kin notification.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit were contacted and responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Through interviews with witnesses, canvassing the area, and processing evidence, detectives identified 43-year-old Christopher Compton as being involved in the homicide. As the investigation continued, detectives established probable cause to arrest Mr. Compton on one count of 1st Degree Murder.
On December 15, 2024, officers from Operations Division East/Community Response Team and members of the Tucson Police Department SWAT Team located Mr. Compton in the area of E. Irvington Rd. and S. Pantano Rd. Officers were able to take him into custody without incident. Mr. Compton was ultimately booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center for one count of 1st Degree Murder. Homicide detectives continue to actively pursue leads in the case and are asking anyone with information to contact 88-CRIME. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
