The office of Ward 2Council Member Paul Cunningham is pleased to be hosting the third annual Disability Pride Day event this Saturday, December 7th from 11AM – 5PM in the senior center at Udall park.
As well as live entertainment by disabled performers, the opportunity to participate in adaptive sports, attend an art exhibition, and meet para-athletes, the day will also feature a key note address by former state representative, Jennifer Longdon, and a panel discussion.
This panel discussion looks at ways the individuals, groups and organizations can drive positive changes regarding disability acceptance and awareness.
The panel will feature Council Member Paul Cunningham, Ward 2, Former State Representative, Jennifer Longdon,, local author, artist and Disability Futures Fellow Naomi Ortiz, and Disability Pride Day Tucson founder, and Community Outreach Director for Paul Cunningham, Chris Desborough.
All four panel members will offer their own unique perspectives and share strategies on bringing both macro and micro change to our community and provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and to be part of driving positive change throughout our city and region.
“I am excited to be part of this panel and to discuss strategies with our community members on how to drive positive change for our community members with disabilities.” He said. “ The planning committee has done a fantastic job of assembling some influential members of the disabled community and I am glad to be able to share the stage with them on Saturday.”
