TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY POOL CLOSURES FOR SYSTEM UPGRADES

Tucson Parks and Recreation will temporarily close several pools in the coming months to upgrade their water disinfection systems from bromine to chlorine. The switch is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to improving water quality and operational efficiency for the community.

Locations and schedule of pool closures:

Edith Ball Adaptive Recreation Center Pool: Closed Saturday, Dec. 22-Sunday, Jan. 5

Clements Pool: Closed Monday, Jan. 6-Monday, Jan. 20

Sunnyside High School Pool: Closed Monday, Jan. 20-Sunday, Feb. 2

Archer Pool: Closed Monday, Feb. 3-Monday, Feb. 17

El Pueblo Pool: Closed until the summer season

Jacobs Pool: Closed until the summer season

Palo Verde Pool: Closed until the summer season

Purple Heart Pool: Closed until the summer season

The following pools are already equipped with chlorine systems:

Quincy Douglas Pool

Udall Pool

Freedom Pool

Himmel Pool

Jesse Owens Pool

Kennedy Pool

Mansfield Pool

Menlo Pool

Oury Pool
