HOLIDAY LIGHTS TO ADORN REID PARK ZOO STARTING THIS WEEKEND - ZooLights: Holiday Magic, presented by Tucson Electric Power, will light up the holidays, transforming Reid Park Zoo into a festive wonderland of holiday lights. The event runs from 6-8:30 p.m., Dec. 5-23, with encore nights Dec. 26-30 and January 2-5. ZooLights will include more than one million twinkling lights, illuminated sculptures, holiday scenes, and light shows. The family-friendly event will also include visits with Santa and holiday characters, falling snow in the desert, nightly festive entertainment, sweet treats, and themed festivities. Among the new features this year are an 18-foot-tall illuminated gingerbread house, an enchanted winter forest, and a 36-foot decorated signature tree with lights for a perfect backdrop for holiday photos. ZooLights is an evening event, so most animals will be sleeping and not viewable. For more information and ticket prices, follow the link below. Zoo Lights
'AMERICA'S BEST MEXICAN FOOD' SIGNS INSTALLED ACROSS TUCSON - The City of Tucson recently installed new signs denoting Tucson as home to "America’s Best Mexican Food." The City completed this project in collaboration with Visit Tucson in early November as a part of the America’s Best Mexican Food campaign, launched in January of this year. The signage builds on Tucson’s history of culinary prestige after becoming the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the United States nearly 10 years ago. The 36 new signs were distributed equally throughout the city. The signs replaced The "Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food" signage previously dispersed through Tucson.
