HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE 1900 BLOCK OF WEST AJO WAY |

As the investigation continued into the murder of 39-year-old Carlos Torres, TPD Homicide Detectives identified Mr. Torres’ brother as the suspect; 37-year-old Jesse Micheal Espinoza. An arrest warrant for 1st Degree Murder was obtained for his arrest and on the evening of November 12th, officers from Operations Division South/Community Response Team found Jesse on Tucson’s Southside. He was taken into custody without incident and briefly contacted by investigators. Mr. Espinoza was ultimately transported and booked into the Pima County Jail for his warrant. On November 11, 2024, officers from Operations Division South responded to a residence in the 1900 block of W. Ajo Way for a report of an unknown trouble. The caller located her fiancé unresponsive inside the residence. When officers arrived, they located 39-year-old Carlos Torres inside with obvious signs of trauma. Mr. Torres was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified of his passing.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to the scene and continued the investigation. Investigators spoke with witnesses, canvassed the area, and processed the scene. Details are still extremely limited, and additional information will be released when it becomes available. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
