DOWNTOWN ROAD CLOSURES START TOMORROW FOR DUSK MUSIC FESTIVAL - The annual DUSK Music Festival returns to Tucson this weekend, and road closures in the downtown area begin tomorrow, Nov. 7, starting at 5 a.m., lasting through Monday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained in and around the road closures, and parking lots will be open and accessible. CITY OF TUCSON RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL TRADE AWARD - The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) recently honored the City of Tucson's Office of Economic Initiatives with the Golden Prospector Special Event Award for hosting the Academy for International Trade series. The series was created to facilitate the growth and expansion of small and medium-sized Mexican businesses into the Arizona market. The Golden Prospector Awards were established more than 20 years ago to recognize excellence in economic development. They were presented at AAED’s annual Fall Forum in Prescott. This is the Office of Economic Initiatives’ second Golden Prospector Award, having won previously in the Marketing Brochure category for its 2022 “Connect Tucson” promotional piece. REGISTER FOR PARKS AND RECREATION PUMPKIN DERBY - Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting its first Pumpkin Derby at this year’s annual Fall Family Festival, Saturday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at Gene C. Reid Park, 920 S. Concert Place. Enjoy a fun and creative event where participants race decorated pumpkins that have been transformed into makeshift race cars. Each participant designs and decorates their pumpkin, then sends it down a sloped track for a friendly competition. Please note that you must make your own pumpkin racer and bring it to the event.
