DOWNTOWN ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING INFORMATION TUCSON VETERANS DAY PARADE
On Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m., the following streets will close to motorists for the Tucson Veterans Day Parade:
- Granada Avenue from Franklin Street to Congress Street
- Westbound Congress Street from Stone Avenue to westbound I-10 Frontage Road
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., additional road closures will be in place:
- Church Avenue from Cushing Street to Congress Street
- Cushing Street from Granada Avenue to Church Avenue
- Eastbound Broadway/Congress Street from westbound I-10 Frontage Road to Church Avenue
- Cushing Street/Granada Avenue from westbound I-10 Frontage Road to Congress Street
The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. These closures are anticipated to be removed as the last parade participant passes through the closure. All streets are scheduled to reopen by 1 p.m., the same day.
Law enforcement officers will be on site to direct travel around the event. Motorists can expect delays associated with this event, plan accordingly. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling, or walking in this area. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
To accommodate the parade, the Sun Link Streetcar will make temporary route adjustments and Sun Tran buses will provide service to streetcar passengers around the parade closure. Learn more about the route changes and detours at www.suntran.com/routes-services/alerts-detours/.
The City-State garage, 498 W. Congress Street, and Tucson Convention Center Lot A Garage and Parking Lot B will be open and accessible until 10:30 a.m. to allow convenient parking for parade participants and spectators. Parking is free at these locations. Following the conclusion of the parade, all parking garages and lots will reopen for entry and exit.
Electronic message boards will be in place ahead of the parade to alert motorists of the closures. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
