PACC
Starting Friday, Oct. 18, anyone who fosters a dog weighing 40 pounds or more for at least two weeks will be eligible for a stipend of $5 per day, up to a total of $70. This offer is made possible by Friends of Pima Animal Care Center, PACC’s non-profit partner. Fosters will also receive a free crate, courtesy of Petco Love. The incentive program runs until Sunday, Nov. 3.
Currently, PACC is caring for 523 dogs in the shelter, which is 69 more than at this time last year. Their goal is to reduce the number of dogs in-shelter to 475 by Nov. 3.
Residents of Pima County, or those with a valid Pima County address, who are 18 years or older, are eligible for the foster incentive.
PACC is also seeking fosters willing to take a dog for just a day or an overnight stay to provide a break from the stressful shelter environment. While these short-term fosters are not eligible for the $5 incentive, any feedback they provide about the dog helps increase the chances of adoption.
To support initiatives like these, please consider donating to Friends of PACC, the fundraising partner of PACC, by visiting www.friendsofpacc.org.
If you're interested in fostering or adopting, visit PACC during their open hours. Currently, all dogs and puppies are free to adopt, and they come microchipped, spayed or neutered, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. A $20 licensing fee applies to adult dogs.
PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 7 p.m., Wednesday from 1:30 to 7 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also follow PACC on Facebook and Instagram for daily updates on the shelter, promotions, and adoptable pets. For more information on available pets and services, visit pima.gov/animalcare.
OR, take advantage of their FREE Snip 'n' Tip event. See flyer below for details.
