The office of Ward 2 Council Member Paul Cunningham is pleased to announce that former state representative, Jennifer Longdon will deliver the key note address at the third annual disability pride day event scheduled for Saturday, December 7th at the Carol West Senior Center at Udall park on Tucson’s east side.
“I am thrilled that Ms. Longdon will be delivering the key note address at Disability Pride Day this year” said Councilmember Cunningham. “In 2004, Jen was paralyzed in a random drive-by shooting and has dedicated the past two decades to raising awareness and improving the lives of people with disabilities.”
“ I am honored to have been asked to deliver the key note address at Disability Pride Day this year” Ms. Longdon said. “ As an advocate for people with disabilities across the state, an event such as this brings community together and helps push back on the many negative stereotypes that exist.”
As well as Ms. Longdon’s key note address, Disability Pride Day will feature adaptive sports, the opportunity to meet para-athletes, and art exhibition which will feature artwork by disabled artists and live entertainment by performers with disabilities.
