Randolph Park and Golf Complex Opportunity Study Public Meeting Tomorrow
We are excited to invite you to a kickoff meeting and question-and-answer session hosted by Tucson Parks and Recreation Department and design consultant team. Join us as we continue our community conversation on the future of Randolph Park and the Randolph Golf Complex.
Date: Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 Time: 5:30 p.m. (presentation begins promptly at 5:30 p.m.) Location: Therapeutic Recreation Center, 1000 S. Randolph Way
In 2023, Sasaki completed a feasibility study exploring opportunities to enhance green spaces around the golf course as part of the "Randolph Reimagined" initiative. Now, we’re moving into a more detailed look at improving the walking experience along 22nd Street and adjustments to Del Urich Golf Course. In addition, we will begin exploring green space opportunities around the golf course in more detail. Consultants will discuss potential ideas based on the feasibility study and seek community input on what you’d like to see in the future development. This is a great opportunity to:
- Share your thoughts and feedback
- Ask questions about the feasibility study and upcoming plans
- Write down your comments for further consideration
Your input is critical as we shape the next steps in reimagining this cherished community space. Following this session, we will return in the coming months with concept plans and further opportunities for public engagement. We look forward to seeing you there! MORE INFO

Cyclovia
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AS 21ST CYCLOVIA TUCSON ROUTE TAKES SHAPE
October is just around the corner, and that means Tucson’s favorite car-free, carefree “open streets” event is almost here. Living Streets Alliance is thrilled to invite the public to its 21st Cyclovia Tucson event on Sunday, October 27th from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Returning to one of our favorite routes connecting Downtown Tucson and South Tucson, several miles of city streets will be temporarily closed to car traffic and opened up for people to walk, bike, roll, play, and connect at this free event celebrating Tucson’s unique cultures, art, and movement.
Activities, live entertainment, delicious food trucks, free bike repair, giveaways, and more will be concentrated into five unique Activity Hubs along the route. Route neighborhoods and activity hosts are coming together to bring you an exciting experience from start to finish; a big incentive to walk or cruise the entire route! Stop by any of three Information Booths to pick up a ‘Cinco for Cyclovia’ bingo game card and play to win prizes while you enjoy the event.
Volunteers of all kinds are still needed for the event! Visit www.cycloviatucson.org/volunteer [cycloviatucson.org] to learn more and sign up to be a part of the magic in one of three ways:
Intersection Volunteer: Grab a friend and hang out at one of the smaller intersections, where you can keep the route flowing, chat with participants, and people-watch as thousands cruise through. The Fall event is always right around Halloween, an autumnal feast for the eyes.
Group Volunteers: Groups of six or more people can team up to help support busier intersections. These groups not only interact with the 50,000+ who come to Cyclovia, they’re also visible to traffic around the event. This is perfect for businesses and organizations that want to be SEEN far and wide!
Super Volunteers: Super Volunteers are truly Cyclovia’s superheroes! They help manage all intersection volunteers and are knowledgeable about the event, locations of activities, and can hook you up with water, maps, and more.
Living Streets Alliance’s 21st Cyclovia Tucson event is presented by Arizona Complete Health and made possible with support from numerous partners and sponsors, including Banner — University Medicine and Banner — University Family Care, Arkos Health, AARP Tucson, the City of Tucson, the City of South Tucson, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality’s Clean Air Program, and Pima Federal Credit Union. Sign up to volunteer, enroll your community group, or register as a food vendor at www.cycloviatucson.org [cycloviatucson.org].
As part of the global “open streets” movement, Cyclovia Tucson is a unique opportunity for people of all ages and “walks” of like to envision a city with safer, more sustainable mobility options for everyone, amidst thriving and enjoyable public spaces. A variety of local organizations, including a wide range of businesses and community groups, along with diverse Tucson residents of all ages and abilities participate in the temporary transformation of our streets into car-free spaces where freedom of movement and connection are centered. There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering, sponsorship and underwriting, performing, or setting up an activity on the route. Learn more and sign up at www.cycloviatucson.org [cycloviatucson.org].
Cyclovia Tucson is a program of Living Streets Alliance (LSA), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform our streets into vibrant public places that bring people together and provide safe, accessible, and attractive transportation options. LSA is increasing healthy, dignified, sustainable transportation in Tucson through outreach, education, and advocacy. PARKS AND RECREATION CONTINUES 'LEASH UP. CLEAN UP.' CAMPAIGN
The Tucson Parks and Recreation department is conducting its "Leash Up. Clean Up." campaign for September's Responsible Dog Ownership Month. The initiative aims to encourage pet owners to keep their dogs on a leash in public areas and clean up after them. The campaign seeks to promote responsible pet ownership, raise awareness about the negative impacts of off-leash dogs and dog waste, and ensure compliance with local and state regulations. Emphasizing the dangers off-leash dogs pose to wildlife and public safety, as well as the health risks associated with dog waste, the campaign also aims to foster a respectful community environment. Tucson Parks and Recreation invites the public to get involved by using a provided toolkit to support and spread the campaign’s messages. For more details, follow the links below. "Leash Up.
