REGISTER FOR SUMMER SWIM LESSONS - Tucson Parks and Recreation will offer swim lessons again this summer. Lessons cost $15 for a two-week session, meeting four days per week. StarBabies classes are available for ages 6 months-2 years; Starfish Swim School is available for ages 3-12 years; and Starfish Stroke School for ages 4-17 years. SPLASH PADS OPEN NOW: SUMMER POOL SCHEDULE BEGINS SATURDAY - All of Tucson's splash pads are open daily, from 8 a.m. to sunset, through Thursday, Oct. 31. In addition, Tucson Parks and Recreation will open 20 pools this summer. The summer pool hours for June 1-July 31 can be found linked below. The Tucson Parks and Recreation department anticipates an update to add additional summer pool hours next week. Admission to City pools and splash pads is free for everyone. TUCSON POLICE DEPARTMENT PART OF 'BUCKLE UP ARIZONA' CAMPAIGN - In an effort to save more lives on Arizona’s roadways, the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the Tucson Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to enforce the state's seat belt and child safety seat laws. Arizona conducts enforcement under a a primary child safety seat law and a secondary seat belt law. The enforcement campaign is based upon high visibility traffic enforcement, with a zero-tolerance approach toward seat belt and child safety seat usage. As part of a the national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement campaign, law enforcement agencies across the state will be stepping up traffic enforcement patrols and increasing other enforcement efforts to drive home the message to "Buckle Up Arizona…It’s the Law!" Vehicle collisions continue to be the leading cause of deaths and serious injuries in our state. The enforcement mobilization began Monday, May 20, and runs through Sunday, June 2.
