Tucson Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Best Life Presents, Arizona Daily Star, KXCI, Ranch House Media, Cloud Microphones, and Groundworks to host the Second Annual High School Battle of the Bands. Bands, with artists between the ages of 13-18 years old, will compete for the grand prize. Grand prize winners will record an album and receive promotion from Best Life Presents.
Date: Sunday, April 7, at noon Location: Gene C. Reid Park, DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center (OPC), 800 S. Concert Place.

REGISTER FOR SWIM TEAM OR SYNCHRONIZED SWIM TEAMS
Tucson Parks and Recreation has opened registration for its Competitive Swim Team and Synchronized Swim Team for the summer. Participants ages 17 and younger who can swim a recognizable competitive stroke one length of the pool without stopping may join Competitive Swim Team. A swim test will be given on the first day of practice. The cost is $30/city-resident and $38/non-city resident. Youth ages 6-17 years old who would like to register for Synchronized Swim Team should be comfortable in deep water, however, no experience is necessary. All participants will learn basic synchro skills and a choreographed routine. Cost is $41/city-resident and $51/non-city resident. For more details and locations, visit the link below.
SUMMER PROGRAMS
KIDCO and KIDCO Inclusion* camps provide a safe, fun place for children ages 5-11 (must have completed kindergarten) to enjoy sports, games, activities, and social interaction throughout the summer. KIDCO Inclusion camps are offered for children with disability-related support needs from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. (*contact 520-791-4504 to obtain pre approval for phone in registration). Camp hours are 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday. Cost is $125/city-resident or $157/non-city resident for a 4-week session (June and July). In-Betweener's Club is available for youth 12-14 years old for $70/city-resident or $88/non-city resident, and Junior Staff in Training for 14-17 years old for $25/city-resident or $30/non-city resident.

REGISTER FOR THE WOMEN’S FASTPITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE BY MAY 15 – Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting women’s Fastpitch Softball Leagues this summer. Players ages 15 or older can sign up for either the competitive league or the recreational league. The league runs May 29-Aug. 7, between 6-10 p.m. Registration is open online at the link below April 5-May 17. The cost is $400 per team. If you do not have a team, you can sign up for the free agent list at the link below.

In November 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). 2018 Parks + Connections Bond Oversight Commission Hybrid Meeting
The Tucson Delivers Program is monitored by eleven members of the public appointed to the 2018 Parks and Connections Bond Oversight Commission. Their next meeting will be held on Monday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m., virtually and at 900 S. Randolph Way, Tucson, AZ, 85716.

NEW SLIDE AT MANSFIELD POOL
A brand new slide was installed at Mansfield Pool, 2275 N 4th Ave., which will be open and ready for the summer 2024 pool season beginning in June.

New baseball fields and lighting, restroom, walking path, and parking lot under construction at John F. Kennedy Park, 3700 S. Mission Road (corner of 44th and La Cholla).
