Tucson Meet Yourself Begins This Friday, Oct. 4 Downtown Road Closures Begin Tomorrow
Tucson Meet Yourself, Tucson's beloved folklife festival since 1974, featuring the food, music, dance, and folk arts, from the diverse cultures that create the tapestry of our community begins downtown this Friday, Oct. 4, running through Sunday, Oct. 6. Road closures for the event begin tomorrow and will continue through early Monday morning, Oct. 7.
The road closure schedule associated with the Tucson Meet Yourself Festival is as follows:
Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 6 p.m. through Monday, October 7, 2024, 4 a.m.
- Pennington Street from Church Avenue to Scott Avenue will close to all travel.
- Stone Avenue between Alameda Street and Congress Street will close to all travel. The intersection of Stone Avenue and Alameda Street will remain open.
Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 6 p.m. through Monday, October 7, 2024, 4 a.m.
- Church Avenue from Pennington Street to Alameda Street will close to all travel.
Friday, October 4, 2024, 6 p.m. through Monday, October 7, 2024, 4 a.m.
- The Church Avenue closure will be extended from Congress Street to Alameda Street and will close to all travel. The intersection of Church Avenue and Congress Street will remain open.
All streets are scheduled to reopen by 4 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024.
During this time, there may be additional road restrictions and closures in the area for the Stone Avenue Complete Streets Project, on Stone Avenue between Broadway and McCormick Street. Motorists can expect delays while traveling in the downtown area so please plan accordingly.
The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling, or walking in this area. Please obey all traffic control and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.

Transit fares are free! Riders can take any Sun Tran route serving downtown to travel to and from Tucson Meet Yourself weekend events. Since most Sun Tran bus routes will end service before 9 p.m., riders are encouraged to use the Sun Link streetcar. The Sun Link streetcar provides easy access to the TCC at the Granada/Cushing Street stops and to the Mercado District at the Avenida del Convento/Congress Street and Cushing Street/Avenida del Convento stops.
