Improvement Plan Phases
The Cele Peterson Rose Garden restoration project is a multi-phased endeavor, estimated to be completed in 2026. The first phase, completed in 2022, involved extensive weeding, removal of dead and poor-condition plants, and the replacement of the perimeter fence. In 2023, the second phase saw the replacement of the entire irrigation system and the removal of remaining poor-condition or dead bushes.
From 2024 to 2025, the department plans to map a phased replanting of the garden, aiming to plant 100-150 new rose bushes a yea hoping, where e feasible, to keep original plant varieties in the planting plan.
