FATAL PEDESTRIAN COLLISION HIT AND RUN
EAST 22ND STREET AND SOUTH SECOND AVENUE

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 10, 2024, officers from Operations Division South were dispatched to the area of E. 22^nd Street and S. 2^nd Ave. for the report of a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian. Tucson Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and evaluated the involved pedestrian. Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased. Police identified the pedestrian as 69-year-old David Vance Selix. Next of kin was notified. Traffic Detectives were contacted and undertook the investigation.

Roadway evidence indicated that Mr. Selix was crossing 22^nd Street at 2^nd Ave. in an unknown direction when he was struck by the suspect vehicle. Detectives believe the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 22^nd Street and that the pedestrian was in, or very near, an unmarked crosswalk at the time of the collision. The suspect driver leaving the scene of a fatal collision is the focus of the investigation and detectives are asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver four-door sedan.
