The City of Tucson Mayor and Council has given notice of intention to revise rates and fees for Tucson Parks and Recreation, Park Tucson, and Planning and Development Services customers beginning in FY 2025.

The City is hosting a series of in-person and two virtual public town hall meetings for the community to find out more about the revisions and provide feedback prior to the April 9 Mayor and Council meeting to consider approving the recommended fees. If adopted, the proposed rate change plan would go into effect July 1, 2024.

RECREATION CENTER OPEN HOUSES

We will be offering a series of FREE open house events at our recreation centers across the city. This is a great opportunity to stop by to see what your local rec center has to offer. From weight rooms, walking tracks, programs, and events, to game rooms and public computers, each center offers unique amenities to enjoy. The first 100 people at each open house will receive a parks and recreation cooling towel and we will be raffling off a free annual Universal Membership.

ADULT SOFTBALL AND COED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUES

REGISTER FOR SCHOOL'S OUT SPRING BREAK CAMPS

Tucson Parks and Recreation will be offering School's Out Spring Break Camps at multiple sites throughout Tucson for children ages 5-11 (must be in kindergarten), or In-Betweener's Club for ages 12-14. Camps will be from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. We also offer Inclusion camps at some of these locations from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Activities include games, sports, social interaction, dance, art projects, and nutrition-based learning activities. NOW HIRING LIFEGUARDS - GET PAID TO GET CERTIFIED

Are you or someone you know looking for a part-time job? Tucson Parks and Recreation is hiring lifeguards to operate and maintain the safety at City pools year-round. The minimum age to be a lifeguard is 15 years old. Pay starts at $16.75/hour.

The City will pay applicants to get their Lifeguard Certification through the City’s certification path. The lifeguard class is an intense, fast-paced course, and strong swim skills are required. All applicants must pass a swim test to qualify. The next swim tests are at Catalina Pool, Feb. 3 and 18.

Your Voice Matters in the Future Growth Scenario  Community Mapping Activity

A key question for our community as we update Plan Tucson is: how can we best plan for the future growth and evolution of our city? The Future Growth Scenario Map is an important tool for shaping the future of Tucson because it influences (but does not determine) land use and development.  Your input is necessary to update the map to match our community’s vision. Please tell us where the City should encourage new homes, new retail, employment centers, and other uses! Whatever your ideal future is, please show us in our Mapping Activity, at the link below. The survey closes on Monday, February 5. 

In November 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). NEW LED LIGHTS AT LINCOLN PARK

The soccer fields and softball fields 1-4 at Lincoln Park, 4325 S. Pantano Road, have had LED lights installed. This project was completed using Tucson Delivers, voter-approved, bond funds.
