Like many, as I change my calendars, I contemplate what the year ahead might bring. I’m not sure if I will make any resolutions. I don’t have a good record of keeping them. But I know what I hope to do – more family time, more hiking and exercise, reading a few more books, supporting my favorite candidates running for office, planting more trees, etc. Maybe those will turn into resolutions. I am also thinking about what city issues Ward 3 will tackle next year (despite trying to spend family time away from the office this vacation). Stay tuned: 2024 is going to be a full and busy year!
For me, staying up until midnight is no longer a New Year’s Eve tradition. I can’t stay awake that late! Sunday I might try an alternative way to ring in “Noon Year” – a party from 10 am to 1 pm at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum where families with young kids can celebrate the new year without missing bedtime. Free with the museum’s regular admission fee. Participants can dance the day away to a live DJ, transform into an animal with face-painting, catch Pretendy Time's improv show, or create with Legos. Plus, it should be a great day to enjoy the museum’s animals and beautiful grounds.
Here's wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, safe, peaceful, and successful 2024!

The Ward 3 weekly newsletter from Vice Mayor Dahl is a shared responsibility. Arnie makes the whole thing look good, while he, CJ, Shannon, and Marlene regularly contribute articles. While we are all responsible for content, my role has been the unofficial Editor. This newsletter is our way of highlighting current issues facing the Mayor and Council, happenings in Ward 3, and spotlighting City employees, along with useful neighborhood and non-profit news. It’s our way of communicating what goes on in our corner of the City. Obviously, there is no way we can share all that we do, so sometimes some pictures and stories don’t make the cut. Since this is the last newsletter of 2023, we thought we’d share some of the pics that got left in the camera.

However, the Public Safety Communications Department will inform 911 callers that no response will occur if shots or fires are not witnessed, and TPD and TFD do not respond to reports of fireworks.
