Hello Friends,
At the core of our Ward 4 office's mission is our dedication to serving our community members with genuine care. Equipping you with the essential tools and up-to-date information to navigate our neighborhood and promptly report any issues is a priority close to our hearts. Anchored by our commitment to exceptional customer service, we are steadfast in delivering the most current and pertinent resources available.
One issue that community members have raised recently is the alarming uptick in speeding and street racing incidents along Houghton Road. Your safety is our priority, and we want you to know how to respond in such situations. If it is an emergency or an organized illegal street racing meet-up with several racers and observers, call 911 immediately. For those who encounter instances of racing or speeding and can offer valuable information, photographs, or videos, we're thrilled to introduce the 'Traffic Watch' tool. This online reporting system empowers you to contribute to safer roads by sharing your observations. Access the Traffic Watch tool (bit.ly/44QoAIW) and actively participate in enhancing road safety.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide you with essential resources, we've compiled a range of resources to help you report other concerns or connect directly with various departments within the City of Tucson, from potholes to graffiti. Keeping you informed and engaged is what we're all about. The info Resources graphic will be located at the bottom of each of these newsletters.

Proposed Ordinance Regulating Towing From Private Property: Mayor and Council gave direction to city staff to prepare an ordinance for adoption based on the draft discussed (https://bit.ly/3YAAdkJ) and to be voted on in a future Mayor and Council meeting. Davis-Monthan Picked for New Spec-Ops Wing
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base has been formally selected to host a new Special Operations Command Wing. This is a monumental moment for our community and will bring incredible opportunities and growth to our region. The new wing, known as the 492nd Special Operations Wing, will replace the base's long-lived A-10 close air-support mission over the next five years.
The decision to choose Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as the preferred location for the 492nd Special Operations Wing is a testament to the unique advantages our city offers. With year-round flying weather, extensive training range space, and close proximity to other military bases, Southern Arizona is a natural fit for this critical mission.
The final decision will be made following the completion of an environmental impact analysis process, which includes environmental studies and public comment. While we eagerly await the final confirmation, this news is a significant step forward for Davis-Monthan and our community as a whole.
We are proud to have Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as a cornerstone of our community, and we look forward to the positive impact this new wing will have on our region. Let's come together to support this transition and show our gratitude to the men and women who serve. Article: Here
