On June 24, 2023, homicide detectives gathered information that the items that belonged to the victim, Mr. Miranda, were posted for sale at a residence in the 100 block of West Michigan Drive. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and members from the Tucson Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Hostage Team responded to serve the warrant.
After several attempts to request the occupants to come out of the house, the SWAT team eventually entered the residence, located an adult male hiding in the attic area, and took him into custody without incident. After completing interviews and evaluating evidence, detectives developed probable cause to arrest 18-year-old Francisco Sillik with one count of 1st Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. He was booked into the Pima County Jail and is being held on $750,000 bond.
The investigation is open and ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
