TRACK AND FIELD AND ROAD RACES IN JUNE AND JULY
Track and Field and Road Races are back throughout June and July. Cost is $3/youth (17 years and younger); $4/adults (18 years and older).
Track and field events are held Tuesdays, through July 25, at Drachman Stadium, 501 S. Plumer Ave. The first event will be held Tuesday, June 6. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meet begins at 7 p.m.
Road races will be held at various locations on Thursdays, with the first race Thursday, June 8, at Freedom Park, 5000 E. 29th St., Ramada #1. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with races starting at 6 p.m.
Ribbons will be given to the top finishers at each track and field meet and run. For more information, visit the Sports Unit website or call (520) 791-4870.

SUMMER POOLOOZA POOL PARTIES
Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting "Summer Poolooza," free pool parties across the city throughout June and July. Events include Ready, Set, Rec! vans with games and activities (see story below), food, music, inflatables, pool fun, and more. Come and enjoy some fun in the sun. The first pool party is Thursday, June 8, 5:30-8 p.m., at Udall Pool, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road.
JOIN A SYNCHRONIZED SWIM TEAM
Do you like to dance and swim, then synchro is for you! Swimmers should be comfortable in deep water. All participants will learn basic synchro skills and a choreographed routine.

Teen Program: Switch City
Introducing a NEW teen program, Switch City! Teens 12-17 can play in monthly Nintendo Switch tournaments at different recreation centers. A different game is played each month. On Nov. 6, 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements via General Obligation bonds. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). CSM Martin R. “Gunny” Barreras Memorial Park Grand Reopening Saturday, June 3, 10-11:30 a.m.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres, Tucson Water's "Storm 2 Shade" and Tucson Parks and Recreation invite you to the grand reopening of CSM Martin R. "Gunny" Barreras Memorial Park, 5702 S. Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ 85706. This park has been developed and renovated to provide beautiful, safe, and enjoyable outdoor spaces for the community.
This park features a variety of new amenities, including a new playground with shade, a new ramada, and a splash pad. Come enjoy food, drinks, "Ready, Set, Rec!" activities, and of course, enjoy the new park amenities.
