Drug Take Back Event
In April, ODE participated in a DEA-sponsored drug take back event. Community members dropped off almost 190 pounds of prescription drugs. Another take back event will be scheduled in the fall. In the meantime, if you have prescription drugs that need to be destroyed, they can be dropped off at the Erik D. Hite Eastside Substation at 9670 E Golf Links Rd.
Member Highlight
ODE would like to recognize the work of K9 Officer Rumsley, K9 Officer Gutierrez, K9 Officer Doyle, ODE Squad 5, ODE Squad 8, multiple T3 Units, TPD Air and the Pima County Sherriff’s Office Survey Unit after they helped apprehend five of the auto theft suspects mentioned above. This arrest helped detectives identify several additional suspects in these thefts.
Crime Prevention Tip

Situational awareness may help you avoid becoming a victim of crime.
Instead of looking down at your phone, be aware of what's in front of, behind, and around you.
Instead of listening to loud music, listen to your surroundings.
With headphones on, you could miss hearing someone run up behind you. In a less urban area, you could even miss hearing the rattle of an angry rattlesnake - something you definitely want to pay attention to!
