CITY OF TUCSON TO OPEN FREEDOM POOL AND NEW WATER SLIDE ON FRIDAY, MAY 26
City of Tucson Ward 4 Councilwoman Nikki Lee and Tucson Parks and Recreation are excited to celebrate the opening of Freedom Pool and its new water slide at the Ward 4 Freedom Park Splash Bash on Friday, May 26, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Freedom Park, 5000 E. 29th St. Enjoy swimming, pizza, jumping castles, music, and “Ready, Set, Rec!”
"Every year, my office hosts a community Splash Bash event to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of summer. This year, we are thrilled to open the new water slide at Freedom Pool, made possible through Proposition 407 bond funds”, said Councilwoman Lee. “This investment in our parks and recreation centers will provide our community with safe and enjoyable spaces to come together and make lasting memories. Thank you to the Tucson voters for supporting these important improvements to our city and to our Tucson Parks and Recreation staff for seeing these projects through to completion."
On Nov. 6, 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements via General Obligation bonds. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). Projects are happening in phases through 2028. Thank you, Tucson voters! For more information on all the projects planned using Tucson Delivers bond funds, visit TucsonDelivers.Tucsonaz.gov.
