SUMMER REGISTRATION FOR CAMPS AND CLASSES STARTS MAY 6

Tucson Parks and Recreation's summer indoor leisure classes and summer camp overrings are viewable online now. Classes range from arts and crafts, Little Movers and Shakers, dance, gymnastics, jewelry making, glass fusing, music, and more for youth and adults. KIDCO Summer Camps (5-11 years old), In-Betweeners Club (12-14 years old), and Jr. Staff in Training (14-17 years old), will be offered in June and July.

Registration for these programs will begin on Saturday, May 6, at 6 a.m. for city-residents and noon for non-city residents. View the classes and camps online at EZEEreg.com.

WOMEN'S FASTPITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE

Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting women’s Fastpitch Softball Leagues this summer. Players ages 16 or older can sign up for either the competitive league or the recreational league. The league runs May 30-July 25, at Lincoln Regional Park from 6-10 p.m. Registration is open online at the link below through Monday, May 15. The cost is $400 per team. New Teen Program: Switch City

Introducing a NEW teen program, Switch City! Teens 12-17 can play in monthly Nintendo Switch tournaments at different recreation centers. A different game is played each month. No equipment is required; everything is supplied at Parks and Rec. Registration is now open for May tournaments. Find out more HERE.

On Nov. 6, 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements via General Obligation bonds. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). Freedom Pool Slide Complete Celebrate the beginning of summer with the grand opening of Freedom Pool and its new water slide on Friday, May 26, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Freedom Park. Enjoy swimming, pizza, jumping castles, and games. The new water slide was made possible through Proposition 407 bond funds.

CSM Martin R. “Gunny” Barreras Memorial Park Grand Reopening Saturday, June 3, 10-11:30 a.m. City of Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres, Tucson Water's "Storm 2 Shade" and Tucson Parks and Recreation invite you to the grand re-opening of CSM Martin R. "Gunny" Barreras Memorial Park, 5890 S. Campbell Ave. This park has been developed and renovated to provide beautiful, safe, and enjoyable outdoor spaces for the community. This park features a variety of new amenities, including a new playground with shade, a new ramada, and a splash pad. Come enjoy food, drinks, "Ready, Set, Rec!" activities, and of course, enjoy the new park amenities.
