CITY OF TUCSON TO HOLD TWO PUBLIC MEETINGS ON PROPOSED SOURCE OF INCOME ORDINANCE - The City of Tucson’s Housing and Community Development (HCD) department will hold two public meetings to present, accept feedback, and answer questions about the proposed ordinance that would make it unlawful for property owners or managers to reject a rental application based on the applicant’s source of income. An in-person public meeting will be held tonight, Aug. 10, at 5:30 p.m., at the Sentinel Building (320 N. Commerce Park Loop), and a virtual public meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 5:30 p.m., via Zoom. The in-person public meeting will be limited to those who register beforehand. HELP SHAPE OUR WATER FUTURE - Engage with City of Tucson leaders and Tucson Water representatives to learn about One Water, an integrated approach to managing our water resources. A communitywide town hall will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 4-6 p.m., at the Tucson Convention Center (Copper Ballroom), 260 S. The town hall will start the community engagement process for the One Water 2100 Master Plan that will guide water management, resources, and infrastructure over the next eight decades. SUGGESTED CODE CHANGES INPUT NEEDED - Tucson's Mayor and Council provided direction in June to begin code updates to streamline Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) processes. PDSD is currently collecting input from stakeholders, staff, and the public about the potential code changes. It is anticipated the proposed code changes will fall into the following three categories: clean-ups/clarifications, improvements/enhancements, and policy-driven code. Based on the suggestions, PDSD will refine this into a suite of code amendments that would be most effective in terms of streamlining. GENE C. REID PARK MASTER PLAN PROJECT UPDATE - Tucson Parks and Recreation and the planning team for the Gene C. Reid Park Master Plan process have been busy analyzing the existing features of the park and collecting the community’s responses to the first survey that opened in May. The purpose of the master plan will be to arrive at a design that protects the best of Gene C. Reid Park while casting a vision for future improvements. ARTS FOUNDATION HIRING - The Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona is seeking a full-time, experienced public art collections associate to effectively manage all aspects of its conservation/maintenance program for the public art collections for the City of Tucson and Pima County.
