ZERO WASTE COLLECTION EVENT THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 2022
The City of Tucson Environmental and General Services Department is hosting its first-ever Zero Waste Collection Drive. At this free sustainability event, the Tucson community can recycle their unused or unwanted items which will then be repurposed, properly recycled, disposed or donated to local charities.
"The goal of this event is to provide a resource for local households looking to safely and responsibly reuse and recycle their commonly used goods. We have partnered with several local organizations who support sustainable living throughout the year," said Cristina Polsgrove, Environmental & General Services.
Drive through and drop off various items such as: clothing, small home goods, books, electronics, bikes/bike parts, paper for shredding, scrap metal, prescriptions, eyeglasses and American flags.
Items that will not be accepted: TV’s, mattresses, vehicle tires, paints, cleaning materials or large furniture.
The event is scheduled for April 16, 2022 from 9 am to 1 pm at 4004 S Park Avenue.
