 Investigating Tucson Water's Biggest Pipe
Watch the Tucson Water team as they inspect our largest pipe--from the inside! This prestressed concrete cylinder pipe is one of the primary ways water is transmitted from Avra Valley, where we recharge, store, and recover Colorado River water, and deliver it to the Tucson basin. More than 50% of our customers’ drinking water flows through this 96” pipe every year.

Lost water is water that enters Tucson Water's system but never reaches the customer. Tucson Water, like all other Arizona public water utilities, is required to track and report water loss to the Arizona Department of Water Resources. Tucson Water’s goal is to reduce water loss from 7% to 4% through a strategic and comprehensive prevention program.
