CITY OF TUCSON KICKS OFF THE SPRING READY, SET, REC! MOBILE RECREATION PROGRAM
Tucson Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the Spring Kickoff event for the mobile recreation program, Ready, Set, Rec! This engaging program was made possible by Tucson’s Mayor and Council, who voted to use federal CARES Act funds to acquire six vans and equipment to bring recreation to the community. Six vans, one per ward, visit at least three different park locations per week, per vehicle. This program ensures that the entire community is served and has an opportunity to participate in recreation activities near where they live.
Standard play equipment comes in each vehicle, with the option to add different modules for play depending on the location and community demographics planned to be served on a given day. Some of those modules include sports equipment, yard games, container gardening, race cars, disc golf, field and fitness activities, STEM, and sensory toys.
Join us at the Spring Kickoff event at Joaquin Murrieta Park where we will celebrate with all six vans and activities, games, fun for all ages, and raffle prizes.
When: Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Joaquin Murrieta Park, 1400 N. Silverbell Road
